In the Women’s Cricket Test at Bristol, India’s 17 year old Shefali Verma became the youngest woman and the fourth overall, to win half centuries in her debut test.
Earlier in the day, Indian women resumed at 187 for the loss of five wickets but were bowled out for 231, giving the hosts a healthy lead of 165 runs.
Having been forced to follow on, India are still trailing by 82 runs.
The record was previously held by Australia’s Jessica Louise Jonassen, who was 22, when she scored the fifties in both innings of her debut Test against England.
