Novak Djokovic won the 19th Grand Slam in the French Open Final on June 13, 2021.

  • Djokovic has become the first tennis player to win all the four majors twice.
  • To win the title, Djokovic had defeated the 22 years old Stefanos Tsitsipas.
  • The world number one triumphed 6-7 (6/8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 over the Greek 22-year-old who was playing in his first Slam final.
  • Djokovic is now just one major away from equalling the all-time record of 20, jointly held by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
  • It was a second French Open crown for Djokovic after his 2016 victory and adds to his nine Australian Opens, five Wimbledon titles and three at the US Open.
  • The 34-year-old is the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win all four Slams on multiple occasions and just the third in history.
  • As it stands, the Serb is 27-23 against Federer and has a 30-28 edge on Nadal.
  • The world number one will have the opportunity to move level on 20 titles with his great rivals Nadal and Federer when he defends his Wimbledon crown later this month.
  • This was Djokovic’s 29th Major final, taking him to second place on the all-time list for most Grand Slam men’s singles finals reached.
