Delhi’s Healthcare Information Management System roll out by Delhi Government : All important points

Delhi Government, Arvind Kejriwal informed that the cloud-based Health Care Information Management System will be rolled out by March 2022.
Delhi will be the only state in the country to have this system which will also be implemented in private hospitals as well.
There’s some delays in this project due to the pandemic and the project is expected to be fully implemented by March 2022.

Focus of this project :

  • The HIMS will focus on the healthcare delivery process including patient care, hospital administration, supply chain management, planning and budgeting, and backend services.

key points of the project :

  • Under this project, entire system will be on the cloud and digitized.
  • System is also supposed to include a 24×7 call centre, or Health Helpline number.
  • Health cards will be issued in the names of all the residents of Delhi, for which special surveys will be conducted by the government.
  • With the help of their registered card number entered in the system, the hospitals will be able to access all of the patients’ health-related information and past registry.
